Karl Eriksson and Sound Construction

Karl, at an early age, was interested in carpentry and building. Both his grandfathers were carpenters from Scandanavia. He also had an interest in music when young and began formal training, playing and listening.

He attended Parsons New School in New York City in 1980 for recording studio practices and then began to focus on recording and listening to room acoustics. In 1984 he continued his education at the Center for Media Arts in New York City and, after two years, was awarded a degree with honors. Karl now has over 20 years experience in recording arts, live theater, and concert production.

During the same period, roughly 18 years ago, he began historic home renovation and theme restaurant construction and design. His relationship with Qwyatt Noise Control started in 1987, when his focus was on movie and theater set fabrication, studio design and build-outs, and residential noise control.

In 1998, Karl started Sound Construction, utilizing his interest and experience in audio production as well as his interest and skills in building. The purpose of Sound Construction was to focus resources to professionally support quality residential noise control solutions, sound studio construction, noise control techniques and design. Since its inception, Sound Construction has done work for producers, directors, and recording and production studios, as well as being involved with many residential and industrial noise control applications.
